You're right Sergiy, Java was initially designed for small and embedded devices by the "Green Team" (Goslin, Sheridan & Naughton).
But the fact is, today, the majority of developers use them for enterprise applications development with the kind of framework you mention, and by the way, during his "long" history the JVM and the different generation of garbage collectors has been progressively optimized for this kind of usage.
For me, the JVM ecosystem (not only Java) has been progressively perverted by this type of drift.
